Excerpt Taken from 2010 article by Manufactured Housing Institute. In general, manufactured homes will appreciate at the same market rate as other homes in the same neighborhood, but as will all housing, it is subject to the same market factors that affect appreciation, including: -the housing market in which the mobile home is located; -the community in which the manufactured home is located; -the initial price paid for the mobile home; -the age and mainenance of the manufactured home; -the inflation rate; -the availabiliiy and cost of community sites, which reflects the supply and demand influences on the manufactured home's value; and -the extent of a organized resale network, where an organized neetwork will usually result in homes selling for a higher price than in markets without such organized network. |
